Chicago Family Portraits with this BEAUTIFUL group!!! I met this lovely girl way back when working through a wedding studio. She was super sweet, had a creative eye and a LOVE for Jesus, so naturally we hit it off! Since then, she has gotten married and had two beautiful little girls. She entrusted me to photograph her whole family at her beautiful home in Chicago.
I love the brick wall, natural light and all these CANDID expressions! I myself gifted my parents with the perfect portrait of my sister and eye with them, back in my studio days (before we both started families of our own). The lighting, our smiles, our pose was PERFECT. But looking back on it now, I feel it looks a bit too staged… because seriously, what family is perfect?
So my style has shifted greatly from then. And what I aim to capture more than anything is something REAL. I love the honesty in these portraits.
